Åkrehamn Coast Museum

Located on the harbour front, and completely renovated in 2006, this museum has become a definite "must-see". It houses photographs and objects from Karmøy from days gone by and tells of this region's history as an important fishing community. This museum also richly depicts the contact enjoyed between West Karmøy and North America. The Nora Sjøhuset boasts to being one of the few herring salteries in Norway still in existence.

Opening hours: 1 June-20 aug.: Mon-Fri 11am-5pm / Sun 2pm-6pm
